The debate on Marijuana smoking weed has sparked a lot of attention over the last few years and there is a significant shift in numbers of those who believe it should be legalized in the last decade.
If you do a search online, you’re more likely to find a plethora of articles, videos and infographics across the social web describing the positive effect or benefits of legalizing marijuana, cannabis or weed. Arguments backing it’s not harmful, it could be economically brilliant for economies to legalize it’s use and how dangerous cigarettes and coffee are in comparison. Going by the active promotion of the stand that it’s not as lethal as other addictive substances and can’t really kill anyone, it would seem that smoking weed is a harmless habit but then that would be an opinion based on hearsay.
From a medical standpoint, although prescribed for medical conditions like Glaucoma, there is nothing to suggest that it is completely harmless. Quite the contrary, the long term effects of smoking weed are quite serious and have a lasting, damaging effect on the nervous system…and that’s a fact. To live healthy doesn’t just mean to ensure that your basic physical body parts function at a basic level. It also means having a balance of mind and body. As far as marijuana and mental state go over the long term, the condition only deteriorates with constant use.
So while the debate around legalization and decriminalization of marijuana sale is another issue altogether, the health position on whether smoking weed is safe is quite clear – you’re better off not being addicted to it because it does have lasting effects on health!
